Abstract
723,706. Centrifugal fans. ECK, B. Aug. 28, 1952 [Oct. 29, 1951; Jan. 27, 1952], No. 21665/52. Class 110 (1). In a radial-flow fan, the impeller blades 3 are twisted so that the inlet angle, measured with respect to the peripheral or tangential direction, is greater at the end A adjacent the cover disc 1 than at the end C adjacent the impeller disc 2. In addition, the outlet angle may be greater at the end B than at the end D. Instead of being parallel to the outlet edge BD, the inlet edge may be inclined as at A<SP>1</SP>C<SP>1</SP>. The blades 3, which may be of either laminar or streamlined section, may be adjustably mounted about axes parallel to the impeller axis. Fillets may be provided where the blades are joined to the discs 1 and 2, on both sides of the blades or on the concave side only. The fillets may comprise weld seams or may be of plastic material, metal or wood.
