Abstract

723,238. Chain sprockets. SEBEL & CO., Ltd., D. March 26, 1952 [Jan. 25, 1952], No. 2171/52. Class 80 (1) [Also in Groups XXII and XXXIV] A vehicle or gear-wheel or the like is formed by two centrally apertured blanks or discs 5 spacedly assembled on a hub member 9 and subsequently pressed and secured together at their peripheral portions 3 to cause the discs to grip the hub member 9. As shown for a toy wheel, the discs 5 each have cut-away portions to provide radial spokes 4, a peripheral dishing 6, and radial pressings 7, the discs being assembled on a centrally flanged hub 9 with the pressings 7 aligned to provide hollow strengthening ribs extending from a tyre retaining groove 13 formed by the dishings 6, to the cut-away portions. The discs may be welded together at their continuous peripheral portions 3. For a gear wheel the discs may have peripheral teeth. The blanks or discs may be of polygonal or other non-circular form.
