[Also in Groups XIX and XXIX] A mass flow monitor (see Group XXIX) comprises a temperature -responsive means of the mercury-insteel type, in which a leafspring 13 (shown in Fig. 3 applied to an absolute pressure responsive means) is attached to the outputdisplacement rod 11 and is supported on an abutment cam 15 so that the free length of spring available is in logarithmic relationship with the displacement of the rod and the displacement is therefore directly proportional to the logarithm of the temperature.
