721,094. Spring suspensions; changing wheel gauge; adjusting body height. PORSCHE, F., and ALLGAIER WERKZEUGBAU GES. May 6, 1953 [June 14, 1952], No. 12644/53. Class 108 (2). In a front axle for tractors, with means for adjusting the wheels, each of the wheel axle journals is connected with a rod which is guided in a vertically displaceable tube. In the arrangement shown, in which a front axle 2 oscillates about a frame part 1 and in which an axle tube 3 is slidable in the axle to permit variation of wheel track, a bracket 4 is secured to the tube 3 and supports bow-shaped clamping members 7, 8 which embrace a substantially vertical tube 9. The tube 9 is provided with circumferentially disposed channels 12 with which the members 7, 8 co-operate in vertically adjusted positions of the tube 9. A wheel axle journal 13 is carried by an integral rod 15 which extends into the tube 9 and is sprung by a helical spring 19, the latter bearing at one end against a plate 18 and at the other end against a ball-bearing 20. Indicating studs 21 are provided on the inwardly facing side of the tube 9 and are spaced at distances corresponding to the distances between the channels 12.
