720,757. Clearing threads. REINERS, W. Feb. 26, 1953 [May 7, 1952], No. 5441/53. Class 120 (2). In a thread clearing device of the kind including an aperture through which the thread is arranged to run, the aperture being so formed that flock &c. are removed and deposited on the edges thereof, while the thread itself, if it does not exceed a specified thickness, passes through the aperture, the latter is formed between two parts, one preferably a spring-urged plate 5 normally contacting an adjustable stop 6, and the other comprising a driven roller 4, preferably having a roughened portion or clearing groove 7, with a sharp edge 7a, moving in contact with the thread in a direction opposite to that in which the thread is moving.
