In a wired broadcasting system for distributing high-frequency signals such as television programmes, the insertion loss of branch feeders to subscribers' equipments is minimized by the use of branch cables having a characteristic impedance at least three times as great as that of the main feeder cable and preferably comprising at least one spiral conductor. Where possible the characteristic impedance of each branch cable should be substantially equal to the input impedance of the associated equipment.
