Class 20 (2) A gas holder rests on a ring of foundations 6 by means of plates 12 resting on the greased surfaces of plates 14 which rest cn the foundations 6 and each plate 12 is guided radially ot the gas holder by bars 15 so that the gas holder moves more freely in the radial; than the tangential direction which latter movement is resisted by the friction between the plates 14 and the foundations 6 and free vertical movement is allowed between the holder and its foundations. The gas holder has a reinforcing, ring 5 at the bottom of its wall. 2 which rests on each plate 12 by means of a plate 11 curved in a radial plane to allow angular movement of the gas holder. One or two supports comprising plates- 12, 14 may be mounted on each foundation 6.
