Abstract

718,499. Carpet underlays. AKTIEBOLAGET CURTOLLE. Jan. 4, 1951, No. 360/51, Class 142(4) [Also in Group VIII] A woven or felted material 1. which may be of jute, is covered with rubber and has elastically deformable bulges 2. The material is dipped in a bath of rubber and passed through a pair of rollers to increase the penetration of the rubber. When dry, the material is passed through a second pair of rollers, one roller being provided with knobs and the other with corresponding recesses which form the bulges. In a modification, the rubber is applied only to the tops of the bulges and to parts of the opposite surface.
