718,251. Separating threads from warps. KOEFOED. HAUBERG, MARSTRAND OG HELWEG AKTIESELSKABET TITAN. Dec. 12, 1952 [Dec, 15, 1951], No. 31563/52. Class 142(1) A device for separating threads singly or in predetermined groups from a leased warp comprises means interrupting the operation of the device if any surplus thread is separated from the warp together with the thread or threads required. In one embodiment, rocking arms 1, 2 are connected to lease cords 6, 7, the endmost thread being removed by a wiper 20. The separated thread moves a bell 'crank lever 21 into the position shown in full lines, whereupon a gripper 26 having a needle 27 with a notch for a single thread, depresses the thread which is then engaged by other members for its subsequent treatment. If only one thread has been separated spring 24 urges the lever 21 into the dotted position. If, however, a surplus thread has also been separated, this will not be depressed by gripper 26 and lever 21 will be held. in its raised position; gripper 26 on rising depresses a rod 39 which depresses an arm 41. End 54 of the arm is depressed and electrical contacts 50, 51 are moved apart, thus interrupting the drive to the device. In other embodiments gripper 26 and lever 21 are both provided with electrical contacts.
