Class 38(4) In a system, as described in Specification 718,171, in which aircraft elevators are operated by a fluid-pressure servomotor controlled through a negative feedback D.C. amplifier by the combined output of potentiometers adjusted by a pilot's control and a gyro-vertical respectively, further potentiometers, adjusted to give an output directly proportional to the weight of'the aircraft and inversely proportional' to the product of the square of airspeed and density of ambient air; also contribute to the input of the amplifier so that the setting of the pilot's control ensures a given angle of elevation of the flight path of the aircraft.
