C1ass 79(3) A metal cover C is adapted to be placed over a clutch control-pedal B, C retaining member H being engageable with or carried by the cover C, there being means for positively locking the retaining member H in an operative position in which it extends immediately beneath the footplate of the pedal. As shown, the member H is U-shaped and is secured by a U-shaped bracket L to a flanged cover plate E hinged at F to the cover C. When the pedal is in its fully-up position, the cover plate E is swung upwards and secured by means of a lock N, the limbs of the member H engaging under the pedal. The cover C may be circular in cross-section as shown, or may be oval or otherwise shaped in accordance with the pedal shape.. The lock N may be a permutation lock or may be key operated. In a modification, the retaining member takes the form of a headed rod or bar which is passed through an aligned pair of holes in the casing. The shackle of a padlock is secured in a hole at the end of the bar opposite to the headed end. More than one pair of holes in staggered relation may be provided, to allow for pedals of different height.
