Abstract

716,278. Automatic voltage control systems. CINEMA-TELEVISION, Ltd. Aug. 28, 1952 [Aug. 29, 1951], No. 20409/51. Class 38(4) In an automatic voltage stabilizing arrangement of the type in which a portion of the output voltage is tapped off a potential divider and used to correct the voltage, and in which the two arms of the: potential divider are shunted by condensers to improve the transient response, one, or both, of the condensers are constituted by the capacity of a coaxial cable which is used to connect the stabilized output to the load. Thus the capacity between the inner and outer conductors 8, 9, Fig. 2, shunts the resistor 3, the other arm 4 being conventionally shunted by a condenser 7. In a modification, Fig. 4, a further sheath 10 is added to the cable, and connected to the lower end of resistor- 4, the capacity between the inner sheath 9 and the outer 10 providing a part of the required capacity across the resistor. The remainder may be supplied by a conventional condenser, Fig. 3 (not shown), or by a further section of cable 12. Resistor 13 is included to improve the smoothing.
