715,234. Disc brakes. HILGER, O., and BUSCH, W., [trading as BERGISHE STAHLINDUSTRIE]. May 19, 1952 [June 9, 1951; Dec. 31, 1951], No. 12569/52. Class 103(1) A disc brake, primarily for vehicles running on rails, comprises a double walled brake disc 4, which acts as a centrifugal blower, arranged at the outer side of the wheel and being rigidly fixed at its central region to the wheel hub 3 but being clear of the wheel disc at its circumferential region. As shown in Fig. 2, the disc 4 is shrunk or force fitted on to the hub 3, but it may be bolted to the inner part of the wheel as shown in Fig. 4 and 8, in which latter arrangement there is sufficient clearance between the disc and the wheel to apply friction blocks to each side..Where, as in Fig. 6, there are brake discs on the outer sides of each of a pair of wheels the brake rod arrangement is in the form of pincers.
