Abstract
715,109. Pressure-relieving devices. MIDLAND METAL SPINNING CO., Ltd., and WYER, J. M. Sept. 10, 1953 [Sept. 12, 1952], No. 22905/52. Class 135 To prevent the forcible ejection from a pressure cooker &c. of a fusible plug of the kind described in Specification 708,882, a bridge-piece 16, Fig. 1, of wire or strip is embedded in the fusible metal 11 and abuts against a 'shoulder adjacent the outer end of a conical plug 10 of non-fusible metal. In a modification, the plug 21, Fig. 5, is formed with a closed end 23, metal being afterwards removed from the end by drilling, slotting &c. so that the remaining metal forms a bridge.
