Abstract

715,056. Fuse contacts. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. Nov. 6, 1952 [Nov. 7, 1951], No. 26114/51. Class 38(5) A contact device comprises a pair of plates 3 adapted to receive therebetween a co-operating contact (not shown). A bar 5 having a head 6 passes freely through the plates 3, a slot in the co-operating contact, and a bore 10 in an arm 7. A screw 13 having a tapered end 12 is threaded in the arm 7, the end 12 co-operating with a tapered socket 11 in the bar 5, so that on rotation of the screw 13 the head 6 may be moved towards the arm. 7 and the plates 3 clamped against the co-operating contact. The device is shown applied to a cartridge fuse 1 mounted in a carrier 4, the plates 3 constituting the fuse contacts provided at the fuse ends, Fig. 2 (not shown). The arm 7 is received with clearance in a recess 23 in the carrier 4, and the screw 13 is provided with a spring 18 and an operating knob 21.
