Abstract

715,050. Discharge of hoppers. CIBA Ltd., Oct. 2, 1951 [Oct. 6, 1950; Aug. 24, 1951], No. 229'70/51. Class 78 (1) Hopper 11 is discharged by rotating base 12, the base being fitted with openings 2C each provided with a cover 13, the covers having sharpened edges which slice away the material within the hopper, so as to discharge it through the holes. As shown the base is driven by motor 15, and stationary guides 14 prevent rotation of material. Alternatively the base may be stationary and the hopper rotate. The base may be conical and the covers may increase in dimension to allow passage for material. The hopper may have a form which is cylindrical, or truncated and conical, or angular.
