714,751. Counting-apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 1, 1952 [Aug. 7, 1951], No. 19524/52. Class 106 (1) An electro-mechanical impulse counting device comprises an electromagnet 1 that is energized by electrical impulses and whose armature drives a ratchet wheel 17 one notch for every impulse, a pointer 31 on the ratchet wheel shaft 16 movable over a calibrated dial 30, a counter 28 visible through an aperture 29 in the dial 30 and driven by the ratchet wheel shaft 16, and an external knob 41 for resetting the pointer 31 and the counter 28 simultaneously to zero. The shaft of the ratchet wheel 17 and the driving shaft 24 of the counter 28 are meshed through a gear mechanism having a 1:1 ratio and the aperture 29 is such that the units wheel of the counter is covered by the dial.
