Abstract
713,570. Paint boxes. REBHAN, H. March 6, 1952 [Feb. 7, 1952], No. 5899/52, Class 11 Tablets of paint 4, Figs. 1, 2, are held in cup-shaped compartments 3. in a supporting frame 1 of a paint box by' the engagement between resilient flanges 5, 6. on which the tablets rest and short rightangled projections 7 on the bottoms of the tablets which projections are forced between the inturned ends 6 of the flanges. Fig. 4 shows a similar holding arrangement applied to a circular tablet of paint. The circular cup receiving the tablet is apertured at 9 at the bottom to form opposite resilient lugs 10 adapted to grip the projection 7 on the bottom of the tablet. In a modification an opening is provided in the bottom of the cup to receive the projection 7 and that part of the bottom surrounding the opening is formed with radial slots to provide resilience. In the form of Fig. 6 the tablets of paint 4 have cut away parts 14 leaving projecting right-angled ledges 13. Flanges 16 bent down to form the sides of the cup have turned in lugs 15 engaging over the ledges 13 to prevent the tablets leaving the cups. The tablets are inserted from the back and retained by another member e.g. the bottom wall of the paint box. In another form inwardly turned lugs on the flanges 16 engage in rectangular slots in one or both narrow ends of the tablet of colour.
