711,770. Launching aircraft. TURNER, Sir F. R. G., and MITCHELL, C. C. Aug. 28, 1946 [Aug. 26, 1944], No. 16226/44. Class 4 A transporter for moving aircraft into correct position on a launching way comprises two sets of driven rollers R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, which urge the aircraft to a central position with its wheels on rollers X, Y, the outermost of a set of idling rollers R<SP>2</SP>. Similar sets R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP> urge the tail wheel on to a track H. Individual clutches on the shafts of rollers R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> enable the number of idling rollers to be varied to accommodate different aircraft.
