Abstract

711,042. Drying viscose &c fibres. HAAS, H. Feb. 24, 1951, No. 4536/51. Classes 34(1) and 34(2) Matted .or felted rayon fibres are dried and opened out by being passed as a wet fleece V between permeable bands B, B<SP>1</SP> through a drying chamber having, each side of the fleece, pressure zones D between which are suction channels S, air being supplied by fans U and heated by heaters H and the bands B, B' being spaced apart to allow for increases in the thickness of the fleece, by marginal rubber or felt strips G. The channels S are connected by headers E and the upper and lower suction channels may be opposite to or staggered relative to one another.
