Abstract
Butylated hydroxyanisole dissolved in citrus oil, e.g. 0.02-2 per cent. of butylated hydroxyanisole in orange, lemon or lime oil, delays the onset of oxidative deterioration. Trials with ethyl hydrocaffeate, ethyl caffeate, alpha tocopherol acetate, hydroquinone, benzyl parahydroxybenzoate, nordihydroguaiaretic acid, iso-thymol, citric acid, ascorbic acid, propyl gallate, lecithin, sesamol, norconidendrin, alpha - naphthol, catechol, pyrogallol, wheat germ oil, and various mixtures of these substances are referred to. Specification 569,345 [Group VI], is referred to.ALSO:Butylated hydroxyanisole dissolved in citrus oil, e.g., 0.02-2 per cent of butylated hydroxyanisole in orange, lemon or lime oil, delays the onset of oxidative deterioration. Flavouring compositions of sotreated citrus oils dispersed in gelatine posses an extended shelf life. Specification 569,345 is referred to.
