Abstract
710,638. Vehicle windows; ventilating. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Dec. 29, 1952 [Dec. 29, 1951], No. 32900/52. Classes 20 (3) and 137 A vertically displaceable side window 11 of a vehicle, e.g. a motor vehicle, has associated with it a vane 14 which is pivoted adjacent the inside face, near the rear edge, of the side window so that when the latter is open the leading edge of the vane can be rotated inwards to protect the occupants of the vehicle from wind, draughts, &c. The vane 14, provided with a locking device, can also be coupled to the winding mechanism of the side door window. The pivot shaft 16 may be disposed a short distance in front of the rear edge of the vane, the gap between the frame 18 of the side window and the rear edge of the vane being sealed by a soft rubber strip 19. Forced ventilation is effected by means of an air flap 9 arranged above an opening in front of the windscreen 10 and leading to the inside of the vehicle.
