Abstract

Class 78 (3) [Also in Group VIII] A device for receiving machined shoe parts from the discharge shoot 9 of the machine described in Specification 704,411, [Group VIII], comprises a container 10 mounted on a counterbalanced parallelogram linkage 20, 24 and movable from the full line position to that shown in chain line by a pedal lever 42 and link 38 so arranged that a steady downward movement of the pedal 48 produces an increasingly retarded upward movement of the container The container is located in its lower position by the engagement of a pair of stops 50, 52 on arms 20, 24. A braking device for damping the linkage at the ends of its movements is provided on the shaft 18 and comprises a drum 54, Fig. 3, fixed to the shaft, and an adjustable band 56 which encircles the drum and has a projection 64 which moves freely between stops 66, 68 during the major part of the linkage movement, but which engages the stops at the ends of the linkage movements and so brakes the shaft 18.
