641,371. Dashpots. GIBBONS BROS., Ltd., and COOK, N. G. Dec. 3, 1947, No. 31880. [Class 108(iii)] [Also in Group XII] In a feed mechanism for a gas producer [see Group XII], shocks to a rocking shaft controlling the operation of a bell type feed valve are reduced by connecting said shaft to a liquid-operated dashpot 65 by a system of levers, one of which carries a roller 63 engaging a slot between two parallel jaws 64 fixed to the upper end of a reciprocating rod 70, movement of the roller 63 being limited by an adjustable block 75 in said jaws 64. The piston 67 is carried by a tube 69 surrounding the rod 70 at the lower end of which is a conical valve 71 controlled by a nut 73 secured to said tube 69 and threaded on said rod 70.
