Abstract
<PICT:0707696/III/1> <PICT:0707696/III/2> A multiple sampling valve assembly in a system for analysing samples of gases, e.g. air taken periodically from various parts of a building, mine &c. comprises a common block 1, Fig. 4, having a plurality of bores 2, each mounting a solenoid-actuated valve unit comprising a cylindrical member 20, Fig. 6, upper and lower seatings 22, 21 and a double-headed valve member 25 urged into engagement with the lower seating by a spring 45, to permit the flow of gas from an individual sampling inlet 3 into a common hood 11 having a connection 12 with exhaust or atmosphere. On the energization of an associated solenoid 32 the valve head 25 is moved into engagement with the upper seating whence sampled gas passes to a common manifold 4 having a connection 8 with gas testing equipment. Each unit is associated with a separate part of the building &c. and operated singularly.
