703,379. Spectacle frames. WHEWAY, F. O. Nov. 6, 1952 [Nov. 30, 1951], No. 28111/51. Class 97(i) Spectacle frames of the brow-bar type have lens securing means comprising a pair of claws for each lens, which engage notches in the lenses, one of said claws being pivoted on a screw which serves to secure the claw to the frame. As shown, the claw c is fixed while the claw g is mounted on a sleeve f through which the screw e passes into the threaded boss d, which is secured to the frame. The ends of the sleeve f and the boss d may be chamfered as shown so that the claw is given an angular movement about its pivot on tightening the screw.
