Abstract
702,568. High frequency transmission line junctions. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and JONES, D. D. Oct. 3, 1952 [Oct. 3, 1951], No. 23044/51. Class 40 (8) A transmission line junction consists of a closed loop of line formed by a conductor lying between conducting surfaces which do not form part of a single surface, and at least three connectors, each of which joins one side of a transmission line to the conductor and the other to a surface, two of the connectors being spaced a distance round the loop equal to an even number of half wavelengths at the working frequency of the apparatus. The distance between the other connector and these is an integral number of quarter wavelengths. In the arrangement shown the two surfaces comprise coaxial tubes 1 and 2 having the conductor 3 between them. The connectors are coaxial lines with their inners 12 connected to conductor 3 and the outers 9 connected to tube 2.
