Abstract

700,281. Toy figures. COLMAN, Ltd., C.. and COLEMAN, R. S. July 22, 1952 [April 16, 1952], No. 9519/52. Class 132(3) A toy figure is divided transversely into two parts 2, 3 which are connected together by a wheel 4 rotatably mounted in one part 2 and having a plurality of spokes 20 engaging an undercut socket member in the other part, adapted to receive the spokes so that, on rotation of the wheel, e.g. by a blade being passed through the body of the figure, one at least of the spokes is always in engagement with the socket. As shown, Fig. 2, wheel 4 is freely mounted on a spindle 6 in a carrier 7 slidably mounted in a recess 8 in part 2. The carrier 7 is mounted at one end of a rod 9 on to whose other end is threaded a nut 11 joining an abutment for a compression spring 12. Alternatively an arrangement including a tension spring 16 may be used, Fig. 8. The wheel preferably has three spokes 20, undercut to form flanges 22, between which are gaps 21. Socket member 5 is mounted in a recess 24 in part 3 and comprises an under cut groove 25 to fit the flanges of the spokes 20.
