Abstract

699,790. Electric condensers. GIALLULY, E. M. S. DE. March 13, 1952 [March 13, 1951], No. 6581/52. Class 37. A variable condenser comprising a rotor 27, Fig. 2, and a stator 26 is structurally combined with a fixed condenser comprising a rotor 33, Fig. 3, on the same shaft as rotor 27 and a stator 32. The assembly preferably includes four variable and four fixed condensers, Fig. 5, switches 47, 48 being operated to connect one or other of the fixed condensers in parallel with one of the variable condensers for wave-change switching in a wireless receiver as described in Specification 674,916, [Group XL (c)]. The vanes 27 may be given any desired shape. Trimming condensers may be added to the fixed condensers. The switch is shown as a rod 42, Fig. 4, with bridging contacts 45, the rod being rotated to effect the desired connections.
