Abstract
698,262. Funnel filters. JASCHKE, A. Oct. 16, 1950 [Oct. 17, 1949], No. 25129/50. Class 46 [Also in Group XVII] The conical upper part of a filtering funnel is provided on the inner wall thereof with one or more spirally extending ribs b each of such a length as to describe at least one complete convolution around said upper part. The mutual spacing of the ribs may be increased over their entire length in a downward direction towards the funnel outlet end. The inner wall may carry, as shown, an endless rib c, e.g. of annular shape, near the upper edge of the funnel, which may join on to the start of the spiral rib b. One or mcre grooves d may be formed in the outer wall of the funnel. As shown the ribs b, c are impressed or cast into the funnel wall so as to form grooves d on the outer wall extending benath the point at which the funnel neck is introduced into the filtrate receptacle e. The spirals may be discontinuous and formed from a number of consecutive short projections and/or pegs and/or by a spiral groove provided in the inner wall of the funnel.
