Class 29 A mould for making waterice confections in animal or other shapes comprises a plurality of mould elements 5 adapted to be held together to form a row of moulds by endwise clamping device 7, 8 each mould cavity being formed by adjacent elements which can be separated to permit withdrawal of the moulded shape when the clamping device is unfastened. Each element 5 comprises a box-like body with a mould depression 5a open at the top and front and with openings 5b in the side walls and bottoms. A rubber packing 5c secured to the back wall of each element forms a fluid-tight closure for the front wall of the adjacent element and the exposed front wall at the end of the row is covered by a plate 6 with a rubber packing 6c. The clamp comprises end cheeks 7, 8 connected by strips 9 and angle bars 10, handles 12, and a clamping screw I bearing on the plate 6. The mould cavities are filled through the top openings, sticks inserted and the assembly dipped into a freezing liquid which fills the hollow interiors through the openings 5b, or passed through a freezing tunnel. After freezing the assembly is raised, the clamp unfastened and the elements separated to permit removal of the shapes. According to the Provisional Specification the moulds have opposite walls formed with mould depressions covered by plates and the moulds are clamped back to back. The plates may be spaced apart for circulation of the freezing liquid.
