Class 38 (v) [Also in Group XXXVI] A distribution board for mounting circuit-breakers, adapted to be connected to the branch circuits comprises busbars 1, 2, 3, insulated by coatings 6a and mounted in a stack. Each busbar has at least one contact element extending therefrom to the front of the stack. The busbars have pairs of socket contacts 24, 19, 22, respectively, the sockets 19 passing freely through holes 20, 21 in the busbars 1, 2 and the sockets 22 through holes 23 in the busbar 1. The upper ends of the busbars are supported in an insulating housing 17 on an insulating support 6 in a tray 4, the lower terminal ends 8, 9, 10, being clamped by a screw 13 between the base of an insulating housing 12 and a shoulder on a terminal 14, the latter having an opening 14<SP>1</SP> for receiving a wire which is clamped by a grub screw. Lugs 16 on the tray 4 clamp the housings 12 against an insulating support 5. A circuit-breaker 26 to be mounted on the board has a pin 28 for engaging a socket, e.g. 24, and a recess 30 whereby it is secured to the tray 4 by a clip 29 and screw 31. In a modification Fig. 8 (not shown) the busbar contacts comprise blades bent up integrally from the busbars to engage jaw contacts on the circuitbreakers. In another arrangement Fig. 6 (not shown) the contact sockets are internally threaded and co-operate with screws. The busbars may alternatively be embedded in a body of insulating material as disclosed in Specification 696,340.
