696,073. Measuring feet. LEICESTER SELFHELP CO-OPERATIVE SHOE MANUFACTURERS, Ltd., and ROBERTS, F. W. Sept. 6, 1951 [Sept. 11, 1950], No. 22287/50. Class 17 (iii). A device for measuring the length and width of both feet of a pair placed side by side comprises a base 1 with heel rest 4 and a slidable toe gauge 14 movable along a central scale member 5, a pair of width-determining members 24 on opposite sides of the member 5 movable along quired. In the embodiment shown, the auxtracks inclined at an angle to the centre line of the base and parallel to the sides of the base so as to contact the sides of the feet, and secondary scales 29 to indicate the width or fitting. A card 10 covered by a transparent panel is divided into columns to give on the front and back edges of the gauge 14 respectively foot and shoe sizes in American, English and Continental scales as well as on a scale known as " Satra."
