Abstract

696,002. Photographic roll films. ILFORD, Ltd. April 24, 1952 [June 13, 1951], No. 13987/51. Class 98 (i). A photographic roll film comprises a strip of photographic film, a paper strip extending beyond the ends of the film and secured to it, a spool on which the film and the paper are wound, and a sealing tab of self-adhesive material on the extreme inner end of the paper strip, the tab extending beyond said end and having an adhesive surface facing the spool. As shown, the paper backing 1 carries a shorter length of film 2, and each end of the backing carries a short strip of self-adhesive tape 3 and 4, that on the trailing end 5 being adhered to the spool 6 and that on the leading end 7 being free. The strip 4 is used to seal the unexposed roll on the spool 6, and the strip 3 to seal the exposed roll when wound on to a second spool. The strip 3 may be inserted in a slot in the hub of the spool 6 instead of being adhered to the core thereof. Specification 291,235, [Class 98 (i)], is referred to.
