685,241. Photographic roll film cassettes. KODAK, Ltd. Sept. 29, 1950 [Oct. 1, 1949], No. 23922/50. Class 98 (i). In a cassette of the type comprising a lighttight tubular casing 20 formed with a slotted film exit guide 22 having spaced lips 23, 24 lined with a light excluding material 25 and a film spool rotatably mounted in said casing and formed with a core 21 to which is anchored the trailing of a film strip wound thereon, the anchoring means comprises (a) a trailing portion 26 of the film strip which when the film strip is fully unwound is positioned between and extends inwardly from the lips of the casing and is wrapped on the spool core as at 27, and (b) a tape 28 wrapped round the core and overlying the trailing portion of the film strip to retain it in engagement with the core, sections of the tape extending from the core and projecting at 33, 34 through the film exit guide and being adhesively secured to opposite sides of the film strip lying between the lips of the casing.
