Abstract

1439901 Cassettes INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 9 April 1974 [10 April 1973] 15651/74 Heading B8M An endless web 2 of ink ribbon or magnetic tape is wound into one or two double-layered rolls 3, the roll(s) inserted into a cassette 1 provided with a lid and a portion of the outer layer of the roll(s) threaded through exit slot 4, across the working surface of the cassette and back through an entrance point. Preferably, the web is fed by a driven roller 7 and a spring biased roller 8. As one layer of the web exits from the cassette and returns to form loops 2b the other layer of the doubled layer forms loops 2a. The tension in the web draws the roll 3 towards the exit 4. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) the web is wound into 2 rolls (10, 11). The roll or rolls may be wound around on cores.
