Abstract

694,810. Friction lighters. REICH, O. Dec. 21, 1950 ,[Dec. 24, 1949], No. 31133/50. Class 75(iii) In a gaseous fuel igniter provided with an exchangeable fuel container 2 having a throttle 3 the outlet 1 of which is coupled to a gas duct 5 leading to a burner nozzle 4 in a lighter body 7 which carries a conventional flint and friction' wheel igniting device, a stop valve 6 is arranged in the duct 5 to control the flow of gas from the container outlet 1. When a cover 11 is closed a cam 23 attached thereto bears upon a spring 21 carrying the stop valve 6 which is thereby moved downwards, thus closing the outlet 1 by means of a rubber insert 19. The container outlet 1 is screwed at 15 to receive a sealing cap. The container 2 is secured to the lighter body 7 by a screw 12, a packing piece 17 being inserted between them to ensure a gastight joint.
