Abstract

694,741. Collapsable tubes. INTERNATIONAL PATENTS TRUST, Ltd. Oct. 8, 1951 [Oct. 20, 1950], No. 25674/50. Class 66. [Also in Group XXVIII] A dispensing container for semiliquid substances comprises a tubular body 10 closed at one end with the exception of an extension orifice 19 and open or partially open at its other end so that pressure can be applied to slidable plunger 13 to extrude the contents. The tube body 10 is preferably cylindrical and may be of stout paper or cardboard impregnated with paraffin wax. The separate extrusion end may be of the same material and have a spun-over flange 18 or other means of attachment. The bottom of the body 10 is left open, turned in, Fig. 1 (not shown), or provided with a separate flanged end 24 having a hole 23 therein. The plunger 13 may be a single flange dished disc or two such discs 'co-operating as shown. The container's contents are enclosed in a thin flexible moisture-proof sheet tube 22 which may be of metal foil, plastic sheet, or impregnated paper and attached at one end to. the plunger (e.g. by insertion between the two disc members' flanges as shown) and at the other end to the top of the body 10. In order to facilitate collapsing the tube 22 may have preformed corrugations or folds in the manner of a bellows.
