Abstract

694,658. Winding-apparatus. DEMAG AKT.-GES. Nov. 24, 1950. No. 28861/50. Class 78(v). In means for lifting or lowering heavy loads in mining operations, e.g. for replacing the winding-rope 3 of a mine cage, a winch 5 is mounted on a wheeled vehicle 6 which is disposed above a pulley 7 anchored to the ground. The axle 8 of the pulley 7 is mounted detachably in brackets 9 adjacent to which are guides 10. The pulley and axle may be raised through these guides and deposited in the vehicle when the operation is finished. The winch comprises drums 15, 16 driven by a compressed air motor 18 through gears 17. The new rope is wound on storage drums 25 from which it is passed over the sheave 24 to the drums 15, 16 and is wound several times round them before passing to the sheave 7. A brake disc 30 is provided on the first gear of the train 17 and fluid-pressure actuated pawl- and-ratchet gear is provided in connection with each drum 15, 16 to prevent rotation when desired. A braking device also is provided for the drum 25. A drum 19 for an auxiliary cable may be disposed between the drums 15, 16. The controls are arranged so that they can all be operated from a single position.
