Abstract

694,507. Photo-electric control systems. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. July 17, 1951 [Aug. 25, 1950], No. 21113/50. Class 40 (iii). The transparent wall of a casing containing a photo-cell is arranged to be swept by an article which interrupts the light beam to the cell. The invention is described with reference to the sheet folding machine described in Specification 618,157, [Group VIII]. As shown, the cell is mounted in a housing 2 which is connected by a diverging casing 1 to the glass sheet 6 which is arranged to be slightly above the level of the conveyer belt carrying the sheet. The lower end of the casing is provided with a flange 1a which extends into a flange 5a on the photo-cell housing. Alternatively the lower end of the casing may be provided with a felt washer which fits in a recess in the photo-cell housing.
