Class 120(1) [Also in Groups XVIII and XXXV] The textile hopper feeder of the parent Specification is modified so as to make the quantity of material in the second hopper control whether or not the first travelling sheet stops with the second. This quantity is determined either by a photo-cell which is illuminated or not according to the level of material in the hopper or by a capacitance probe. A second photo-cell or probe may be used to adjust the speed of the first travelling sheet, e.g. by increasing its speed when the quantity of material in the second hopper falls below a predetermined level.
