Abstract

694,415. Bags. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 25, 1952 [March 2, 1951], No. 4890/52. Class 94(ii) [Also in Group XXVIII] A vacuum cleaner filter bag (see Group XXVIII) is formed from a blank 1, Fig. 1, of napped sateen cut along lines 4, 5 to a symmetrical pattern notched at the base and having curved edges 10, 11 which after folding along the axis 3 are stitched together. The bag so formed is then folded along the stitching 12, Fig. 3, and along two pairs of parallel lines 6, 7 and 8, 9 inclined to the axis 3 to form a bag of opposed W-section having a hemmed opening closable by a conventional clamp 27, Fig. 5, and a dust-laden air inlet 14 wired to the vacuum cleaner exhaust duct 17. A strip 15 supports the hem 16 and the folds are secured by tacking stitches 21.
