Abstract

Purified concentrates of vitamins of the B12 group are obtained by subjecting concentrates of these vitamins to treatment with one or more cyanides or prussic acid whereupon, if desired, the vitamins of the B12 group and the accompanying impurities are separated. During the treatment the pH is held between 5 and 7, and enzymatic digestion of the concentrates effected by means of papain. Specifications 595,111, [Group VI], 670,860 and 675,247 are referred to.
