Abstract
<PICT:0693106/IV (c)/1> In a machine for treating textiles of the type in which an endless belt of the textile is passed through a vat of the treating liquor, the liquor is circulated across the vat by the action of a propeller which is housed in a chamber communicating with the interior of the vat. The Figure shows a dyeing machine in which endless belts 20 of the textile are separated by parallel spacing bars 46 and are passed over roller 17 and winch 7 so that they may be driven by the winch through the liquor contained in a vat 1 at a speed of some 30-60 yards/minute. The liquor in the vat is circulated by extracting it from a flat-sided perforated tube inserted in the side of the vat, Fig. 3 (not shown), via a pipe 36 which is connected to a propeller 24 which is driven by the electric motor 28 to rotate in the chamber 23. The liquor is forced out of chamber 23 via pipes 29 and heating chambers 30 into the vat 1 via pipes 32 which terminate in flat-sided perforated tubes inserted in the sides of the vat, Fig. 3 (not shown). Dye from a dye bowl 38 is fed into the circulatory system at pipe 36 via valve 40 and pipe 39.
