Abstract
691,832. Beading; shearing; rolling screwthreads. SCHULER AKT.-GES., L. June 7, 1951 [July 7, 1950], No. 13547/51. Class 83 (iv). A sheet - metal - working machine having a plurality of horizontal spindles of which an upper tool spindle is adjustable in the vertical and horizontal directions, for example a beading, trimming or thread-rolling machine, is characterized in that, in addition to a coarse adjustment, means are provided for a fine adjustment of said upper tool spindle in the vertical or horizontal direction or in both directions. The upper tool spindle 4 may be mounted in a housing 2 rockable about a rear pivot, not shown, by a rod 5 and hand-operated turnbuckle 6 connected at its lower end to the main frame 1 by fine adjusting device 8. This comprises a nut 10, Fig. 2, on the threaded rod 7 of the turn-buckle 6, this nut being formed externally as a worm-wheel and arranged to be rotated in a casing 11, secured to fork 13 and frame 1, by a worm 14 and knob 16. The spindle 4 is adjusted in an axial direction by sleeve 20, Fig. 4, screwed in the housing 2 and secured against relative axial movement, but free to rotate, on the spindle 4, by ball-bearings 18,19. The sleeve 20 can be rotated by a wormwheel 21, feathered thereon, and a worm 22 rotated by a knob 26. When adjusted it can be clamped by a part 31 and screws 27, 28. Each knob may be associated with a scale.
