Abstract

690,761. Combs. COSBY, .E..L. H. Nov. 22. 1951. [Nov. 22, 1950], No. 28518/50. Class 131 A toilet comb in which the teeth can be moved to take the contour of the head comprises a toothed, thin, resilient, strip forming a comb member, spring members at each end of the strip, and a flat, boxlike holder open along one of its longer edges to receive the comb member so that there is a space between the strip and the closed longer edge of the holder, the spring members engaging the end walls of the holder to retain the comb member in the holder. As shown, a resilient strip 1, having intermediate teeth 2 and end teeth 2a, has a spring 3 secured at each end and is received in the open-sided casing 4, the springs 3 engaging the blocks 4a and apertures 4b of the casing while the end teeth 2a abut the blocks 4a. The resilient strip may be of metal or of synthetic resin and integral with the spring members and with the teeth and teeth of synthetic resin may 'be received in apertures in the strip.
