Abstract
689,976. Electric discharge tubes. EGYESULT IZZOLAMPA ES VILLA-MOSSAGI R. T. April 13, 1950 [June 17, 1949], No. 9130/50. Class 39(i). Process for treating ceramic insulating elements fixing the electrodes of electric discharge tubes in position comprises subjecting the surfaces of the elements to the action of one or more substances which are capable of dissolving parts of the elements to produce a roughened surface thereon. A 10 per cent solution of hydrofluoric acid can be used for ceramic insulating elements containing silica. Elements containing aluminium oxide can be boiled in 30-40 per cent acid solutions. Elements containing calcium oxide can be boiled in a 20 per cent solution of hydrochloric acid.
