Class 20(ii) Scaffolding planks are supported across horizontal supports 13, Figs. 1 and 4, extending through a window, each support being mounted inside the window on two vertical members 1, 2 engaging the wall and a strut 26 connecting the vertical and horizontal members. The member 13 is supported between angle irons 16, 17, on a plate 14 mounted on the members 1, 2 and resting on the bottom of the window opening by an angle iron 19 to which the member 13 is secured by stays 20. Brackets 23 secure the member 13 to the angle irons 16. The top of the members 1, 2 carry screw clamps 6 engaging the top of the window opening. The members 1, 2 and the strut 26 have a number of bolt holes to allow the member 13 to be adiusted in position vertically. The lower ends of the members 1, 2 are connected by a base 32 which may be screwed to the floor when the plate 14 is above the bottom of the window. The strut 26 may connect the base 32 to the opening member 13. The members 1, 2 are also clamped to the outside of the window opening by an angle iron 35 and bolts 36 or this may be replaced by two bent angle irons 41 shown in plan in Fig. 7, adapted to hook over the,window sill against which it is pressed about pivots 43 by bolts 45. A further modification of the clamps is shown in Fig. 10, in which the bent angle iron 55 is moved in a vertical plane about a pivot 56 by a bolt 58.
