Abstract
689,902. Loose-leaf book-keeping devices. TOD, W. H. Oct. 16, 1950. [Oct. 28, 1949] No. 27685/49. Classes 16 and 146 (i). A loose-leaf book-keeping device comprises loose carrier leaves 7 each having a pocket 8 or retaining means for detachably holding page elements 12, means for holding the leaves assembled so as to open substantially flat, the page elements 12 each comprising a backing sheet part of which serves for or carries a columnar record sheet 13 and horizontally ruled daily record sheets 14 mounted on the backing sheet in overlapping relation so that marginal columns 15 are visible for totalling charges thereon and on the sheet 13. Each leaf 7 is formed with a locating leaf 10 folded back thereon and as shown in Fig. 1, the leaves are interconnected and connected to a backing cover 1 with end pockets 5, 6 by the locating leaves 10 entering pockets 5 and 8 and the end leaf 7 entering pocket 6. The pocket 8 is of transparent material and may be secured, as shown, direct to the leaf 7 or, in modifications, to a frame, in one of which it is adapted to fold back to show the page element 12 and is held closed by press-studs. A number of leaves 7 may be secured together and have a single locating leaf 10. Account record sheets 11 may be inserted behind the page element 12 and drawn out as shown in Fig. 3 for making up accounts for a particular period.
