Abstract

689,656. Toy railway accessories. MECCANO, Ltd., and EVENNETT, F. F. Feb. 26, 1951. [Oct. 28, 1950] No. 26338/50. Class 132 (iii). A device for guiding the wheels of toy rolling stock on to track rails comprises a sheet metal pressing forming an elongated platform 1 tapering in width and sloping towards the delivery end 1b of the device. Side ridges 3 and a centre embossed portion 8 form guides for rolling stock wheels 5 which are brought into alignment with the track and roll on to the rails at the end 1b. The device is positioned at this end by the spacing of the ridges 3 but the width at the receiving end 1a permits the device to be used also with curved rails sections. Short support members may be embodied in place of the continuous side walls 6, and the ridge walls may be vertical throughout their length instead of changing to a lateral flare at the end 1a. The platform need not be of tapering width and inclined. The device may be die cast or of plastic.
